FLASHBACK

Thank God this project is always extended. :]]

I, obviously, am not fund of doing this bloggy thing because actually, I am not really into sharing pieces of my life. I don’t know why.

Anyway, SALIW is going to perform some of the concert’s performances to entertain the delegates from different Regional Science High Schools. I was excited. I learned how to dance SAKUTING and it was a lot of fun. I was really amazed on how fast Ate Dei comes up with choreography. AMAZING! xD

On the day of performance, we were like going back to the concert, NON STOP but it was really fun. The delegates even danced with us and also Mr. Tosco that was very fulfilling. But what I like the most is when a parent came over and complemented us. I was like, \m/. THAT’S SALIW! I almost cried when Ma’am May said her farewell to the seniors though I’m a junior. I don’t know why but maybe it’s the way she said it. =’c I was sad because it was the last performance of the seniors and I’m gonna miss them. This post is getting too far. Bye!

BTW. I wanna include Alice in Wonderland in this entry. It’s such a very good movie though I was only moved by the last part. Overall, it was GREAT, though it’s a little bit creepy for some momentsin the movie.

ALICE by Avril Lavigne

Trippin out
Spinning around
I'm underground
I fell down
Yeah I fell down

I'm freaking out, where am I now?
Upside down and I can't stop it now
Can't stop me now, oh oh

I, I'll get by
I, I'll survive
When the world's crashing down
When I fall and hit the ground
I will turn myself around
Don't you try to stop me
I, I won't cry

I found myself in Wonderland

Yo Banderitas!

After the SALIW concert, I thought I’m gonna be back to classes today but FORTUNATELY ( :]] ), I did not. For the upcoming RSHS Summit, our school decided to make banderitas out of the cover of our notebooks so we did it.

For this time, I also joined the COCC. Though I hate it, I still joined. It brought me body pains and sore throat LOL. Though I haven’t attended any training, they assigned me as the commandant of the colors. They can’t choose anyone so they persuaded me to join. I was thinking, it could have been Robert but I don’t know why they did not pick him. Another controversial thing, Joshua is one of the flag bearers. No offense, but it was all what we are thinking of. It led us to a conclusion that this COCC thing is “PALAKASAN” LOL.

Anyway, we always have a jamming inside our room and this one, I really love it.

Passenger Seat by Stephen Speaks

I look at her and have to smile
As we go driving for a while
Looking nowhere in the open window of my car
And as we go the traffic lights
Watch them glimmer in her eyes
In the darkness of the evening

And I've got all that I need
Right here in the passenger seat
Oh and I can't keep my eyes on the road
Knowing that she's inches from me

We stop to get something to drink
My mind pounds and I can't think
Scared to death to say I love her
Then a moon peeks from the clouds
Hear my heart that beats so loud
Try to tell her simply

That I've got all that I need
Right here in the passenger seat
Oh I can't keep my eyes on the road
Knowing that she's inches from me

Oh and I've got all that I need
Right here in the passenger seat
Oh and I can't keep my eyes on the road
Knowing that she's inches from me

SALIW ON SPOTLIGHT!!!

Yesterday, yesterday, yesterday. What the heck?! It’s the best day ever! \m/ or should I say the best NIGHT ever!

I’ll not goof around this time.

*sigh* What can I say about the concert? Well, actually, I don’t know. It’s simply the BEST event in school that ever happened.

Before the concert started, we still had our rehearsals in the morning and after the rehearsals, we went to Ariane’s house and had a movie marathon. It’s fun.

Right after the marathon, we went back to school and I was really excited for the concert yet nervous, we went backstage and I changed my clothes according to the first performance we’ll do, it’s Footloose (anything checkered on top). We did not settle down, we’re “in and out” of the backstage. Then boom, the program started with “The Prayer” sung by Maedenne and Kuya Engelbert then Footloose. We started stomping and my glasses went off. I started to panic. I kicked my glasses off the stage and continued stomping and dancing. Our performance was followed with amazing performances from the alumni and we danced the SD. The part 2 of this concert is the singing part. There were bands and a bunch of great singers. The part 3 includes the current members and officers of SALIW, solo performances, and ultimate showdown. As a closing performance, all SALIW members danced to the tune of “Celebrate Good Times”. After the concert, we had a “party-party” at the middle of the stage. I thank God that my parents appreciated the concert but they still want me to avoid these things. Despite of what they told me, I’ll still DANCE! :]]

A Sad Week

SUSPENSION

After Robert was caught cheating, the teachers let us speak who else also cheated on our PT’s. So as expected, many of us raised our hands and told the truth, and I’m one of them. As verdict, we got suspended but the parents wanted the suspension to last for a day only and it was signed by Mrs. De Vera.

Okay, I really expected that we’ll be suspended. So I just watched TV, eat, and then sleep. That’s what I did the whole day.

The next day, when I knew that there’s a SALIW rehearsal, I was not able to attend because my mom’s not feeling well and she told me not to attend first.

This morning, I attended today’s rehearsal and I was bothered when my brother sent me a message that my mother was confined in the hospital. Right after we’re dismissed, I immediately went to the hospital. Thank God she was fine when I came. She told me to go home and rest. The doctor said that she can go home by Tuesday or Wednesday.

I’m listening to this song while I’m doing this. BTW, I’m listening to Andrew Garcia’s cover.

Lost in a dream - I don't know which way to go
(Let me say that) if you are all that you seem, then, baby, I'm moving way too slow

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught in the slamming door
How about some information, please?

Straight up, now, tell me do you really want to love me forever, or am I caught in a hit-and-run?
Straight up, now, tell me is it gonna be you and me together, or are you just having fun?

Time's standing still waiting for some small clue
(Let me tell you now) I keep getting chills when I think that your love is true

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught in the slamming door
How about some information, please?

Straight up, now, tell me do you really want to love me forever, or am I caught in a hit-and-run?
Straight up, now, tell me is it gonna be you and me together, or are you just having fun?

Another “7 Days a Week” Week [LMAO]

At last, we got out of the SD part of the concert. Actually, for the past rehearsals, it’s only the SD we’d been practicing. With what I’ve been seeing in the rehearsals, I really think that our concert would be the greatest event in our school. I’m really excited with the alumni’s performances. I’d like to see them teaching us and of course, dancing to the different kinds of dance they are good. As far as I know, Kuya Ching’s forte is jazz and as what we know, Ate Dei’s forte is hip-hop. I wanna see them :]]

JAZZ

is a classification shared by a broad range of dance styles. Prior to the 1950s, jazz dance referred to dance styles that originated from African American vernacular dance. In the 1950s, a new genre of jazz dance—modern jazz dance—emerged, with roots in Caribbean traditional dance. Every individual style of jazz dance has roots traceable to one of these two distinct origins. Some techniques in jazz are center control, spotting, toe rise, and straddle split leap.

HIP-HOP

refers to social or choreographed dance styles primarily danced to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which were developed in the 1970s by Black Americans. What separates hip-hop dance from other forms of dance is that it is often freestyle (improvizational) in nature and hip-hop dancers frequently engage in battles—formal or informal freestyle dance competitions. Informal freestyle sessions and battles are usually performed in a cipher, a circular dance space that forms naturally once the dancing begins. These three elements—freestyling, battles, and ciphers—are key components of hip-hop dance. The main styles in hip-hop are breaking/B-boying, locking, and popping.
